Physical therapy, is one of the treatment modalities using physical agents (referred to as “electrophysiological agents” – EPAs – in international nomenclature).
The current definition by the World Confederation of Physiotherapy (WCPT) defines the use of physical agents (physical therapy) as the use of biophysical and electrophysiological varieties of energy to assess, treat and prevent damage, activity limitations and barriers to participation to maintain and optimize health.
