Laparoscopic gallbladder surgery
Laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder involves making several (3-4) small incisions in the abdominal wall in order to insert the laparoscope and the small diameter tools used by the surgeon during the operation. For optimal and safe access to the bubble, it is necessary to pump gas (carbon dioxide) into the abdominal cavity. Then the surgeon cuts out the diseased follicle, after which the gas is removed from the abdominal cavity, and sutures are placed over small incisions.
