Prosthetics
KCM Clinic Centrum Stomatologii offers modern prosthetics, which allows not only to fill gaps in teeth, but also significantly improves the aesthetics of a smile. There are two basic types of prosthetic restorations in dental prosthetics: permanent and movable restorations.
We make top-class permanent restorative restorations:
- Lost tooth tissues – Inlay / Onlay restorations
- Lost teeth – crowns and bridges
- Implant based restorations
- Different types of dentures
- Bite splints
- Denture repairs
Crowns and bridges are the most commonly used solution in the event of extensive tooth defect and destruction, fracture, chipping, discoloration or missing tooth (teeth). They can replace teeth, improve their aesthetics, colour, ensure proper bite and improve its functionality. Tooth crowns are mounted on previously ground teeth of the patient or on implants.
Prostheses are removable restorations. Their performance requires extraordinary accuracy, because they must adhere tightly to the gums. Prosthetic prosthetic treatment takes place on several visits.
Stages of making the prosthesis:
- Consultation with a specialist, selection of the right type of prosthesis for the patient based on a full dental review based on x-ray diagnostics – if the patient decides immediately to start prosthetic treatment, the dentist makes an impression under the prosthesis
- Impression on an individual spoon – a working model is cast based on the impression. The impression is to obtain the largest possible support for the denture plate and to limit the mobility of the denture.
- Determining the occlusion height – it is determined on the basis of special templates prepared individually for each patient, the most optimal mutual position of the maxilla and the mandible should be precisely determined.
- Trial prosthesis – during this visit trial dentures are ready, the doctor and the patient assess the appearance and comfort after insertion, if everything is accepted, the prosthesis is sent back to the laboratory for the final, ready denture.
- Returning the prosthesis – the patient is informed about the rules of its use and proper hygiene, so that the perfect aesthetic effect remains as long as possible.
Stages of making the crown or bridge:
- Consultation with a specialist, selection of the right type of crown for the patient based on a full dental review based on x-ray diagnostics.
- Grinding the tooth / teeth, choosing the colour of the crowns so that they do not stand out from natural teeth, and making temporary crowns.
- Trying on the prosthetic work and final fitting of the crowns after the patient and the doctor accept the colour and shape.
After completing each prosthetic work, the Patient is informed about the rules of its use and proper hygiene, so that the perfect aesthetic effect remains as long as possible. We also provide a crown or temporary bridge after grinding teeth, until the final prosthetic restoration.
