A hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves transferring hair follicles from one area of the body, called the donor area, to areas affected by baldness or thinning hair, the recipient areas. Most commonly, the donor area is the back of the head, where hair is denser and less prone to fall out. This procedure is performed using a variety of techniques, the most popular being FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction). The minimally invasive FUE method involves the extraction of individual hair follicles using a special device, so that only tiny, pinpoint scars remain, which become almost invisible over time. The procedure itself is performed under local anaesthesia, which ensures patient comfort. After the transplantation, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s instructions, including appropriate scalp care and avoiding excessive exercise for several weeks. The effects are visible gradually as the transplanted hair begins to grow, which usually occurs within a few months of the procedure.
