Prof. Dr. Piotr Major, MD, PhD, is a specialist in general surgery and oncological surgery. At KCM Clinic in Jelenia Góra, he consults patients as part of the Centre for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, FEBS.

Prof. Dr. Major specialises in the surgical treatment of obesity, bariatric and metabolic surgery, revision surgery after previous bariatric procedures, and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery of the gastrointestinal tract.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. He obtained a PhD in medical sciences, the degree of Doctor Habilitatus, and the title of Professor of Medical and Health Sciences. He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in the field of bariatric, metabolic, and laparoscopic surgery.

Prof. Dr. Piotr Major is a member of national and international scientific societies related to bariatric, metabolic, and laparoscopic surgery, including the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders, the ERAS Society, and the Association of Polish Surgeons. He serves as President of the Board of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Section of the Association of Polish Surgeons.

The scope of procedures performed includes, among others:

• gastric bypass – Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, RYGB,
• mini gastric bypass – one anastomosis gastric bypass, OAGB / MGB,
• revision surgery after bariatric procedures,
• laparoscopic removal of a gastric band,
• gastric balloon,
• SADI-S – single anastomosis duodeno-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy,
• SASI – single anastomosis sleeve ileal bypass.
