Prof. UJ Dr hab. med. Piotr Major

Prof. UJ Dr hab. med. Piotr Major is an outstanding specialist in the field of bariatrics, laparoscopic and general surgery.

A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University Collegim Medicum in Krakow. Since his studies, he has been associated with the 2nd Department of Surgery of the Jagiellonian University. Since 2010, he has been specializing in general surgery at the Department of Endoscopic, Metabolic Surgery and Soft Tissue Neoplasms at the University Hospital in Krakow. Author and co-author of numerous scientific papers in national and foreign medical journals. In 2014, he defended his doctoral dissertation and obtained the title of doctor of medical sciences. His interests focus on minimally invasive surgical techniques and the surgical treatment of morbid obesity. He also deals with endoscopic diagnostics of the gastrointestinal tract and ultrasound diagnostics. Acts as the president of the Society of Polish Surgeons and a member of IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders).
