Eyebrow transplant

An eyebrow transplant is a surgical procedure that involves transferring healthy hair follicles from a donor area, usually the back of the head, to an area of the eyebrows where there is thinning or a complete lack of hair. The procedure uses the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, whereby individual hair follicles are precisely harvested and transplanted, minimising the risk of scarring and ensuring a natural-looking brow. The effect of the procedure is long-lasting and the brows gain a fuller, more symmetrical shape. The recovery process is short, and after a few months the transplanted hairs begin to grow and gain a natural texture.

Before the eyebrow transplant procedure, the patient undergoes a consultation during which the doctor assesses the condition of the skin, the shape of the eyebrows and the availability of suitable hair follicles. It is usually recommended that laboratory tests are carried out and that certain medications are discontinued, especially those that may affect blood clotting. Alcohol and smoking should be avoided a few days before the procedure. On the day of the procedure, the eyebrow skin and the donor area are thoroughly cleaned and the patient is given a local anaesthetic to ensure comfort during the procedure.

After the FUE eyebrow transplant procedure, recovery usually takes a few days to a week. Patients may experience slight swelling, redness or scabbing around the transplanted eyebrows, which usually subsides after a few days. During this time, it is recommended to avoid intense exercise, sun exposure and contact with water. The full effects of the procedure can be seen after a few months, when the hair begins to grow according to its natural direction. The healing process is rapid and the final result – thick, natural eyebrows – is long-lasting.
