Beard transplant

A chin transplant is an aesthetic procedure that involves the transfer of hair follicles, usually from the back or sides of the head, to the chin area to improve its density, shape or to replace missing hair. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia and the follicles are harvested using the FUE method (individually) or FUT method (from a strip of skin). The hair is implanted precisely to reflect the natural direction of hair growth. The procedure takes a few hours and after a few months the transplanted hair starts to grow, giving the full effect after approximately 9-12 months. The results are long-lasting and provide a natural-looking beard.

Preparation for a beard transplant includes a consultation with your doctor, a health and hair assessment and a discussion of expectations. It is advisable to avoid alcohol, smoking and blood-thinning medication for a few days before the procedure. The donor skin and beard area should be clean and well-groomed.

After a chin transplant, you may experience slight swelling, redness and scabs, which resolve within a few days. Touching the transplant area, intense exercise and sun exposure should be avoided for about a week. The full effects of the treatment are visible after 9-12 months.

After a beard transplant, it is important to follow proper aftercare to ensure successful results. Avoid touching, scratching, or rubbing the transplanted area to prevent infection. Keep the area clean and moisturized, and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight for at least a few weeks. Refrain from strenuous physical activities or heavy lifting during the initial recovery period to minimize swelling and promote healing. Additionally, follow any prescribed medications and instructions from your doctor for the best outcome.
