Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is used in orthopedics and sports medicine to treat injuries and contusions of soft tissues (muscles and tendons) and joints. As a result, tissue regeneration is accelerated, pain is reduced and the patient recovers faster. In osteoarthritis, PRP is administered intra-articular either alone or in combination with hyaluronic acid to increase therapeutic efficacy by the synergistic action of both methods. After the procedure, the patients experience a reduction in pain. In the case of a significant advancement of degenerative changes in the joints, this method gives the opportunity to improve the functionality of the affected joints and extend their life, for example while waiting for an endoprosthesis, especially when used in conjunction with the transplant of adipose tissue enriched with stem cells. After the procedure, patients experience a significant reduction in pain, which in turn increases the comfort of their life.
