Dr. Michał Łabul, MD, PhD

I am a specialist in general surgery, and my main area of professional activity is the surgical treatment of obesity. From the very beginning of my career, I have been dedicated to bariatric surgery, continually developing my skills in this field.

I graduated from the Piastów Śląskich Wrocław Medical University in 2013. I completed my specialization in general surgery at the Regional Health Center in Lubin, passing the board examination with the third-best result nationwide.

In 2025, I was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences with distinction at the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków for my doctoral dissertation entitled “Analysis of Outcomes of Revisional Bariatric Surgery, with Particular Emphasis on Factors Influencing Treatment Effectiveness and the Risk of Complications.” The studies included in my dissertation were published in prestigious scientific journals such as Obesity Surgery, Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, and Scientific Reports.

I am a member of the Metabolic and Bariatric Section of the Polish Society of Surgeons as well as the Polish Society for the Treatment of Obesity.

I have honed my skills through numerous courses and training programs at leading European bariatric centers, including Vienna, Bruges, Hamburg, and Kaunas. I hold the Certificate of Proficiency of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Section of the Polish Society of Surgeons, confirming my qualifications to perform bariatric procedures in line with contemporary standards.

All bariatric operations I perform are carried out using laparoscopic techniques, which ensure less surgical trauma, faster recovery, and better treatment outcomes for patients.
