Laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder involves making several (3-4) small incisions in the abdominal wall in order to insert the laparoscope and the small diameter tools used by the surgeon during the operation. For optimal and safe access to the bubble, it is necessary to pump gas (carbon dioxide) into the abdominal cavity. Then the surgeon cuts out the diseased follicle, after which the gas is removed from the abdominal cavity, and sutures are placed over small incisions.
Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy – Removal of the gallbladder is one of the most common surgical procedures. This procedure is performed laparoscopically under general anesthesia.
The cholecystectomy treatment requires proper preparation. You should perform the tests ordered by your doctor, and on the day of the procedure, be on an empty stomach, stop consuming solids for 8 hours and liquids 6 hours before the procedure.
Immediately after the operation, the patient may feel pain related to the procedure. Resumption of daily activities usually occurs shortly after the procedure. However, it is important to remember to avoid physical exertion in the first few weeks, especially carrying heavy objects, and to follow an easily digestible diet with little fat and no hot spices.
People suffering from comorbidities should consult a general practitioner and cardiologist.
